KIKA contemporary art space (KIKA cas) offers three membership plans with individual sets of benefits: Friend, Supporter, and Patron. This page explains overall benefits (discounts, lounge reservations, drink tickets), and changing or cancelling membership plans.

◆ How to Use Member Benefits: Purchase Discounts

Please present your membership card at the register when purchasing products at KIKA.

Friends (¥1,000/month)

  • 10% off up to ¥10,000 on books, antiques and artwork
  • 1,000 off for each item over ¥10,000

Supporters (¥5,000/month)

  • 10% off up to ¥100,000 on purchases of books, antiques and artwork
  • ¥10,000 off for each item over ¥100,000

Patrons (¥10,000/month)

  • 10% off all books, antiques and artwork purchases with no maximum value

※ The names of Patron members will be introduced on the official KIKA website (please contact us if you wish to remain anonymous).

 

◆ Lounge Use

During KIKA’s opening hours, you may use the lounge located on the 3rd floor of KIKA (Thu–Mon 11:00–19:00 / last admission 18:00). As this is a members-only space, access is generally limited to members but non-members may use the lounge for library purposes if accompanied or introduced by a member.
Lounge use is divided into the following categories:

  • Library Use (Shared): For reading, research, and quiet work
  • Private Use (Block Reservation, up to 6 people): For meetings and small gatherings
  • Event Use (Block Reservation, up to 15 people): For book clubs, panel events, and lectures

【How to Make a Reservation】

Lounge use is by reservation only. Please complete your reservation via the inquiry form and let us know your desired date and time, purpose of use, and the number of people.
KIKA will reply to confirm availability.

  • Please complete your reservation by the day before your desired date of use.
  • Lounge use is billed in one-hour increments. Extensions may be possible depending on that day’s reservation availability and management discretion. 
  • For exclusive use, at least one member must be present, and that member will be responsible for the booking.
  • Though there is no cancellation fee for the Lounge, members must promptly notify KIKA cas should they need to cancel.
  • Usage time or category may be adjusted depending on congestion or operational circumstances.

 

◆ Drink Tickets

At talk events, opening events, etc., we will hand out drink tickets valid only on the day.

  • Friends: 1 ticket (≅ 1 beer )
  • Supporters: 5 tickets (≅ 5 beers or 1 bottle of wine )
  • Patrons: 10 tickets (≅ 10 beers or 2 bottles of wine )

※ Tickets may be transferred but cannot be exchanged for cash. Each ticket is valid for one drink. If there is a price difference, an additional payment is required.

 

◆ Cancellation of Membership (subscription)

KIKA membership is operated using Square's subscription function. If you wish to cancel your membership, you can follow the steps below using the link in the registration confirmation email or monthly billing email you receive from Square.

▶ Cancellation procedure

  1. Open the email you received from Square and click the link that says "Manage this subscription."
  2. On the management screen that appears, select "Cancel subscription" to complete the cancellation.

※ The email subject and sending timing may vary depending on Square's specifications. Once you cancel, automatic billing will stop from your next billing and you will no longer be able to use any membership benefits.

 

◆ Duplicate Plans & Card Use

An individual may register multiple subscriptions. A membership card will be issued for each plan you sign up for, but each person may only use one membership card at a time. Therefore, no matter how many membership cards you have at the time of purchase, the discount will only be applied once. 
However, drink coupons for events will be distributed according to the number of membership cards you have. For example, if one person has two Friend Membership Cards, they will receive two drink tickets.
