1991年にセゾン美術館、京都国立近代美術館で開催された『フランク・ロイド・ライト回顧展』の公式カタログ。本展は、初期のプレーリー様式の住宅から、日本でのプロジェクト、ユーソニアン住宅、そして晩年の都市構想に至るまで、フランク・ロイド・ライトのキャリアを辿り、その作品世界を包括的に概観するものであった。本書は、学術的な論考に加え、図面、模型、家具、装飾ガラス、グラフィックデザイン、建築プロジェクトなど200点以上の図版を収録し、ライトの「有機的建築」の概念、モダニズムとの関係、そして日本および国際的な建築界に与えた永続的な影響について論じている。
Official catalog that accompanied the Frank Lloyd Wright Retrospective at Sezon Museum of Modern Art and the National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto, in 1991. Exhibition offered a comprehensive survey of the work of Frank Lloyd Wright, tracing his career from early Prairie-style houses through his Japanese projects, Usonian homes, and late urban visions. Publication compiles scholarly essays with more than 200 illustrations of drawings, models, furniture, decorative glass, graphic designs, and architectural projects and Wright’s concept of “organic architecture,” his relationship to modernism, and his lasting influence on both Japanese and international architecture.
