In April 2022, the Goethe-Institut held the exhibition "Connecting Stories" to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the artist-in-residence "Villa Kamogawa". Curator Michael Hirschbichler invited around 130 artists to submit “connecting pieces” for the exhibition that would evoke the artistic process and the on-site encounters, while at the same time creating a tangible connection.
Published to coincide with the exhibition, this book comprises 73 artist cards and an accompanying 60-page booklet.
The catalog is visually and tactilely playful, with innovative letter compositions by Berlin-based typographers Shunya Izumo and Ferdinand Ulrich, letterpress printing by Daniel Klotz at the Berlin workshop Die Lettertypen, and each artist's work bound together in a sleeve.
